ROBIN WILLIAMS COMMITS SUICIDE


Robin Williams has committed suicide.The comedian killed himself in Tiburon,in Northern California.According to the Marin
County Sheriff’s Office … authorities found William’s body inside his home.They say he was found unresponsive.

He was unconscious and not breathing and the coroner suspects suicide due to asphyxia.

Williams was last seen alive at his house at 10 PM Sunday night. Robin went back to rehab last month to focus on his sobriety. We’re told alcohol was an issue. Williams struggled with cocaine and alcohol abuse in the early ’80s but was sober for 20 years.

Robin’s wife, Susan Schneider,
says, “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its
most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken.

Williams has died at the age of 63

KENYAN STUDENT STRUCK AND KILLED BY A TRAIN IN OHIO

A Kenyan-American woman was struck and killed by a train in Sharon Township, Ohio on Thursday.

Victoria Muchiri,22 and a fourth-year Biology student at Ohio State University,died instantly at 1:30am after being struck by a Norfolk Southern train.

Authorities say they are treating the incident as a suicide,saying she got in the path of the
approaching train and made no attempts to escape from being struck.

Investigators found what is believed to be Victoria’s car parked in an adjacent parking lot.

KTN’s Business anchor,Bonny Tunya,will be leaving the Mombasa Road based station in two weeks’ time to a South African based media station.

According to sources,the éloquent anchor has been poached by South African based station,CBNC (Consumer News and Business
Channel).

The talented anchor will be based in Nairobi but will also be frequently visiting South Africa for official duties.Bonny was known for his prowess in business reporting and was ranked among the top business reporters in East Africa.

Football Kenya Federation has appointed Bobby Williamson as the new Harambee Stars coach.

Former Kenyan internationals Musa Otieno and Simeon Mulama will be the team’s new deputy
coach and team manager respectively.

Football Kenya Federation announced the appointments on Tuesday, two days after disbanding the Harambee stars  technical bench.

PRESIDENT UHURU RANKED THIRD IN JOB APPROVAL RATINGS

Gallup has ranked President Uhuru Kenyatta third best performing leader in Sub-Saharan
Africa among 26 African leaders surveyed.

President Uhuru received 78 per cent job approval ratings beating other leaders who have been in power for over two decades.
According to the Gallup reports, the Presidents from more than half of the 26 sub-Saharan
African countries surveyed in 2013,many of who are attending the U.S. -Africa Leaders’ Summit this week received job approval ratings higher than 50 per cent.
But those ratings varied greatly across countries,from a high of 86 per cent in Mali to a low of 24 per cent in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Mali’s President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita who is in his first term of office topped the table with 86 per cent of approval followed by Botswana’s leader Ian Khama at 81 per cent while Kenya’s President came third with 78 per cent approval.

The approval was based on how the leaders handle their jobs.Paul *Biya (Cameroon) was fourth with 70 per cent,
*Blaise Compaore (Bukina Faso) 70,
*Ernest Bai Koroma (Sierra Leone) 68,
*Mahamadou Issoufou (Niger) 64, *Macky Sall (Senegal) with 63 per cent respectively in that order.

Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete seals the top 10 leaders’ approval at 59 per cent just below
his East African Community counterpart Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni who was rated ninth
best performing leader at 62 per cent.Results were based on face-to-face interviews with at least 1,000 adults, aged 15 and older,
conducted in 2013 in the 26 Sub-Saharan African countries.

NEW AIR FORCE CHIEF NAMED IN MAJOR MILITARY CHANGES IN KENYA

Samuel Ng’ang’a Thuita has been promoted from Brigadier to Major General,and has been appointed Kenya Air Force Commander. Major General Joff Otieno who served as KAF Commander has retired,according to the changes announced by President Uhuru
Kenyatta on the advice of the Defence Council under the chairmanship of Cabinet Secretary
for Defence Raychelle Omamo.

Brigadier Francis Omondi Ogolla has been appointed Deputy Commander,Kenya Air Force.

Other changes include the appointment of

Major General Jonathan Kipkemboi Rono as Deputy Force Commander African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

Major General Samuel Wesonga Nandwa has on the other hand been appointed Assistant Chief
of Defence Forces–Personnel and Logistics Defence Headquarters.

Brigadier Antony Mukundi Ngere is now the General Officer Commanding Western Command.

Brigadier Benjamin Biwott has been named General Officer Commanding Eastern Command.

Brigadier Jossiah Mrashui will now serve as Chief Strategic Plans & Policy Defence Headquarters.

Brigadier Christopher Riugu Imanene is now the Chief of Logistics Defence Headquarters.

Brigadier Robert Kariuki Kibochi has been promoted to Major General and appointed Assistant Chief of Defence Forces Operations,Doctrine and Training Defence Headquarters.

Brigadier George Owino has also been promoted to Major General and appointed Commandant of the Defence Staff College.

Also promoted from Colonel is Joseph Mutwii Kivunzi to Brigadier and appointed SDS Army National Defence College.

Colonel Thomas Chepkuto has been promoted to Brigadier and appointed Commandant Joint
Warfare Centre (JWC).

Colonel Isaac Muchendu has been promoted to Brigadier and appointed Chief of Personnel
Headquarters,Kenya Army.

Others promoted are Colonel David Azangu Ngaira to Brigadier and appointed Commander
Engineer Brigade.

Colonel John Kibaso Warioba who has been promoted to Brigadier and appointed Commander 2 Brigade.

The changes also include the promotion of Colonel John Mwangi to Brigadier and
appointment as Commander Artillery Brigade.

Colonel Mohamed Abdalla Badi has been elevated to a Brigadier and appointed Base Commander Moi Air Base.

Colonel Eric Kinuthia is also now a Brigadier and has been appointed Base Commander
Laikipia Air Base.
